Safety: Share & Be Aware

Share & Be AwareWe all need to share the road

Share & Be Aware is a statewide campaign to raise awareness among all road users that everyone would be much safer if all of us would obey all traffic laws at all times.

Follow the links on the pages below to learn more about your rights and responsibilities when bicycling, walking and driving.

A team of Share & Be Aware ambassadors are working across the state to spread these important road education messages. They are available free of charge to teach classes at your business, attend your community event or participate in public meetings.

To request the Share & Be Aware Ambassadors to attend an event or teach a class in your community click this button.

Share & Be Aware partners with WisDOT

The Bike Fed’s Share & Be Aware program will reach more people in 2011 thanks to a state and federal grant announced October 27, 2010, by the governor’s office. Through the grant, we’ll be working with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Bureau of Transportation Safety to teach bicyclists and motorists throughout the state about sharing the road. See our press release for details.

This partnership was made possible by a matching federal grant, and the Bike Fed needs to raise $75,000 in special donations to complete the funding.
