
The
Milwaukee by Bike 2010 Bicycle Master Plan will guide the development of bicycle policies and facilities in the City of Milwaukee for the next decade. In addition to proposing more than 200 miles of new bicycle facilities including bike lanes, bicycle boulevards, bike routes and raised bicycle lanes, the plan sets goals and objectives designed to increase the safety and ease of bicycling in the city.
The document was open for public comment through July 31, 2010. Thank you to everyone who took the time to submit comments on the draft plan. The final plan will be posted here and on the City of Milwaukee Web site when it is available at the end of August. The expected timetable for legislative action on the plan is:
- Wednesday, September 1: Plan introduced at Common Council
- Thursday, September 9: Hearing on plan at Public Works Committee
- Tuesday, September 21: Final vote on plan by Common Council
