Biking to Work

This presentation can either be given as a brown-bag, lunch-time presentation for employees in workplaces participating during Bike to Work Week or to Wellness Committees of workplaces that would like to further encourage bike commuting. The presentation includes an introduction to bike commuting, workplace program, activity, and incentive ideas to further encourage commuting to work by bike and biking to work materials for participants.

This presentation is for any adult with an interest in commuting by bike-first-timers and seasoned riders alike! The presentation will cover topics including bicycle choice, dealing with cargo and clothing, lighting, foul weather riding, bike parking, and route selection.

Traffic Cycling for Commuters
4hr Road 1 Class, indoors & on-bike | Cost: $300 (not including travel costs) | Maximum Attendance: 15 |
This class will give adults who have an interest in commuting by bike confidence by arming them with the bike-handling skills and maneuvers needed to ride safely and legally in traffic and on the trail. Additional topics covered during the class include how to check your bike for safety before riding, assembling a basic tool kit, equipping your bicycle for the commute, and riding at night and in varying weather conditions. All participants must have their own bike; part of the class will include riding.

League Certified Instructor Training
2 1/2 day course, indoors & on-bike | Cost: $250/person | Minimum Attendance: 6 |
| This 2 1/2 day course certifies you to teach the BikeEd curriculum from the League of American Bicyclists. Becoming a League Cycling Instructor (LCI) certified to teach BikeEd is a great way to help cyclists in your community. Certified instructors can teach BikeEd classes to children as well as adults. Help bring the joy of safe cycling to others. If you are an experienced cyclist and would like to teach others please consider taking the next step towards certification. Road I is a prerequisite for a certification seminar. |
