by Dave Glowacz, Wordspace Press, 1998. A wonderful, funny, and very informative
book on how to get around in a city.
Bicycle Commuting Made Easy, from
Bicycling Magazine, 1992. This book covers riding in traffic, eating right,
and commuting in icky weather.
Street Smarts - Riding Confidently, Legally,
and Safely , by John Allen, Rubel BikeMaps, 2002. 46 pages.

Trudy Bell, McGraw hill, 1998. A complete guide to pedalling to work and
shopping.
Effective Cycling, by John Forester,
MIT Press, 1992. 344 pages. Excellent detailed discussion of many aspects
of bicycling and bike maintenance.
Commuting by Bike - You've Got to be Crazy,
by Will Orobko, Rocky Mountain Books, 184 pages. The author shares eight
years of accumulated wisdom on the joys and perils of bike commuting with
his readers.
Glenn's New Complete Bicycle Manual,
by Glenn, Coles, and Allen, Crown Press, 1986. Revised and edited by John
Allen. Focuses on repair, but has a good section on effective cycling
techniques.
Anybody's Bike Book: An Original Manual of Bicycle
Repairs, by Tom Cuthbertson, 10 Speed Press, 1984. This book
is the classic bike repair book. It has lots of friendly cartoonish illustrations.
Its diagnostic questions make it easy to identify problems.
