I was preparing to appear on a Wisconsin Public Radio show this morning when I put together some notes on what the Bike Fed has coming up in the next several months.
The list is pretty darn exciting. Take a look:
March: Bike Walk Civics, Thursdays at noon. An online seminar for local advocates to help them become more effective.
March 12 – May 12: Spring Classics Series, various dates and places. No drop rides organized by members.
March 9 -12: Midwest Bike Show, Alliant Center, Madison.
April 7 – 9: Bike Expo, Fair Grounds, West Allis.
April 20: Self-Driving Car Conference, Music Hall, UW-Madison, 1 to 5 PM. Free and open to the public.
May 4: Wisconsin Bike Summit, Grand Avenue Mall, Milwaukee, 9 AM to 4 PM.
May 5: Inaugural Wisconsin Cycling Hall of Fame Gala, Italian Community Center, Milwaukee, evening.
June 1 – 10: Wisconsin Bike Week. Events around the state all week.
June 11: Milwaukee Ciclovia (still a little tentative, check back before the event).
June 28 – 30: Places for Bikes Conference, Madison.
July 21: Polish Moon Ride, Milwaukee, evening. The iconic laconic Milwaukee slow roll is also a fundraiser for the Bike Fed. Date not yet confirmed.
August 25 – 27: RAW Weekend, Kenosha, Dubuque, Beloit.
September: Northern Bike Summit. Details coming this summer.
October 27: Saris Gala, evening, Union South, Madison.
Whew. At a lot of these events we need volunteers. So if you’re interested in helping out just shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Also, for some events you will find details already up here on our website while in other cases details will follow soon.
And of course what I’ve listed here, with a few exceptions, are just Bike Fed sponsored events. Look for a listing of some 250 events and rides coming soon in the Ride Guide.
Did I say it before? Yowza.
