The Greatest 24 Hours in Cycling

If you haven’t experienced the Riverwest 24 in Milwaukee, you really owe it to yourself to check it out. It is too late to register, but the race starts at 7pm tonight and runs through the same time Saturday. The Tour de France might be the biggest sporting event in the world, and the Tour of America’s Dairyland the biggest race series in the Country, but the Riverwest 24 is arguably the coolest one day cycling event around. As much a neighborhood bonding event as it is a race, most people ride the RW24, but some take it seriously.

My friend Jack Davidson directed this great video that features the Bike Fed’s own Jake Newborn supporting his sweetie Nicole LaBrie in her battle for a spot on the podium.

About Dave Schlabowske, Deputy Director

Dave was the first full-time staff member hired to open the Bike Fed's Milwaukee office 15 years ago. A former professional photographer and life-long Milwaukee resident, Dave likes wool, long rides, sour beer, and a good polar vortex once in a while.

  1. The bike fed made it to podium with Beth Pickhard, our Events Assistant, getting second in solo women and Jake Newborn, Education Manager, getting third on a team that road bmx bike the whole time. Wayto go!
