The fourth year of the Clips Beer & Film Tour in Madison started off strong with attendees arriving early to lay claim to their spot in front of the giant blow-up screen that’s iconic of the Tour. Olin Park was again a perfect venue for this craft beer and film tour sponsored by New Belgium Brewing. Attendees enjoyed beautiful views of the sunset across Lake Monona with a light, welcome breeze, which dissuaded the majority of bugs from being a nuisance.
Madisonians camped out with full picnic spreads or opted to purchase delicious food from Salvatore’s Pies or the Good Food Cart. The drink of choice was obviously beer- and what beer options attendees were given! New Belgium Brewery brings in their standard brews, like Fat Tire and Ranger, but also delights the crowds with samples of their specialty brews, called Lips of Faith. With names like Heavenly Feijoa Tripel and Biere be Mars, you know you’re in for a treat!
All told, 1,800 people came out this year to support the Bike Fed by enjoying some tasty brews. This brought in over $13, 400 in proceeds which will support the Bike Fed’s work to make bicycling even better. Attendance increased by 500 from last year! What’s even more impressive, is that 1,000 of these attendees arrived by bike!
Events like this support and build bicycle culture, ultimately encouraging more people to bike. This is evident by the 12% growth in people transporting themselves to the Tour by bike since last year. Way to go, Madison!
