20 by 2020 Campaign

20 by 2020 is a consumer campaign we are running in Madison to inspire 10,000 people to sign up and support getting 20% of all trips in Madison to be done by bicycle in the year 2020. Follow the progress of 20 by 2020 here.

 

Bicycle and Pedestrian Planning

Bike Camps

This is the summer version of our Safe Routes to School: Bicycle Driver’s Ed program. Bike Camps focus on bicycle safety skills, but also gives participants extended time on the bike exploring their neighborhood and beyond. Targeted at middle school aged youth for one or two week sessions June through August. Bicycles and helmets provided on request. For availability and rates contact Jake Newborn below

 

Bike to Work Week

The Bike Fed helps coordinate and run Bike to Work Week events around Wisconsin. Bike to Work Week is run in concert with the League of American Bicyclists’ National Bike to Work Week.

 

Bike Valet

The Bike Fed offers Bike Valet services for large events. If you are interested in learning more about how the Bike Fed can work with your event to create a popular bike-friendly service for your guests and customers contact Amanda White.

 

Commuter Challenge

In partnership with Scott Brands, the Bike Fed runs the Get Up & Ride Bike Challenge. The challenge is a great way to engage in friendly competition with your coworkers or your friends to see who can put on the most miles. Learn more about the challenge here.

 

 

Legislative Action

Working with the board’s Legislative and Policy Committee and a team of contract lobbyists, the Bike Fed works to create bicycle friendly polices and legislative that builds world-class bicycling in Wisconsin. Learn more about our legislative agenda here.

Wisconsin Safe Routes to School State Network

The Bike Fed leads the Wisconsin Safe Routes to School Network in partnership with the National Safe Routes to School Partnership. The Network works to build a team of collaborators and experts across the state and to promote policies that inspire children to walk and bike to school. Learn more about the Network here.

Share & Be Aware

We all need to share the road

Share & Be Aware is a statewide campaign to raise awareness among all road users that everyone is safer when all of us obey all traffic laws at all times. Learn more here.

 

Valid Bike Shop

Located in Milwaukee’s North Division High School, Valid Bike Shop is a bicycle mechanic training ground for at-risk high school aged youth. Mechanic trainees gain valuable job training and mechanic skills while helping to fix and maintain hundreds of bicycles for the Bike Fed’s summer Bike Camps. Wisconsin Bike Summit

The  Bike Summit is a great opportunity to meet other people who feel that bicycling is important to Wisconsin and take that message to your state elected officials.  The Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin will help set up meetings and brief you on issues.

 

Wisconsin Ride Guide

The Ride Guide is Wisconsin’s only comprehensive cycling guide. This annual publication is your most complete source for recreational/club organized rides, charity rides, bicycle tours and races around the state. Bike Fed members get the Ride Guide in the mail, but we also distribute 25,000 copies to local bike shops around the state in April.
