Women are bicycling in Wisconsin

The Wisconsin Bike Fed created a Women  & Bicycles program in 2014. It is modeled after a successful Washington D.C. program. Roll Models volunteer across the state with enthusiasm, knowledge and dedication to encourage more women to ride, creating networks of women riders.

At the end of our  third season,we continue to see participation growing. This summer, ten women  participated as Roll Models in eight communities providing 149 rides, workshops and socials for 1,081 women. We would like to spread the word about all the great work that is happening and help provide connections to all the other great programs for women cyclists in Wisconsin.

We have learned that women want to connect with others; they want to learn from each other and ride together. We look forward to finding better ways to build communication and continue to increase the number of women riding all across the state.  If you want more information about our program, contact Carolyn at carolyn.dvorak@wisconsinbikefed.org or look for a group in your area here.

Look around and notice who is on the road.
