Bike Winter Events Listing

Don’t put your bike away just because of a little snow and cold weather.  Get up and ride your bike to any of the great bike winter events below.

But before you put a leg over your bike, sign up to take the Winter Bike Week Challenge from February 12th through February 18th. Registration will open next week, so watch for an update on where to register via email, on the Bike Fed blog and Facebook.

If you were one of the more than 4,500 people who logged over one million miles riding their bikes in the spring and summer Challenge last year, give the Kimberly Clark Winter Challenge a try. Registration will open next week, so watch for an update from us via email, on the Bike Fed blog and Facebook.

We are hoping to get 1,000 people to participate in our cold weather commuter challenge.

    • I did forget Valerie! Thanks for reminding me. I will update the Bike Winter page with the details.

  1. Hi Dave,
We have just started “Fat Tuesday Fat Bike Rides” 6:30-8 pm. Bring your own Fat bike or rent one for $25 and ride with us. I’ll take you through the snow and across the beach for a bike ride like no other! I really think these bikes are going to become the next snow board type craze. Check one out soon! Here is a link to our calendar page with a link to metal pedal as well!

    • Cool, now all we need is more snow! I will put that up on the Bike Winter page. Thanks for letting me know.

  2. Who is organizing events for this winter and how can I help. I am looking forward to a good winter and love to ride my bike no matter what!

    • Tom,

The last few years, Bike Winter in Milwaukee has been organized by some folks who met at Transfer Pizza to plan. I think Casey Tweed (Facebook name) was one of the primary movers. You can try to contact him via Facebook, or put out a message on the MKEBKE Facebook about getting the Bike Winter planning going. I have a tentative date planned for the Santa Cycle Rampage, but we are waiting for confirmation on it. Here is a link to the Milwaukee Bike Winter calendar, hosted by the Chicago Bike Winter folks: http://bikewinter.org/calendar/*/Milwaukee
